Who we are
State Fragility and Displacement Initiative (SFDI) is a student-led group at Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto.
The main purpose of our initiative is to create an observatory of fragile states with three main objectives: examining the impact of fragile states on global security, understanding their influence on displacement, and developing policy solutions for humanitarian aid in the context of fragile states.
To achieve these goals, we are making a policy-based research observatory consisting of two components:
Qualitative case studies of fragile states, written by students.
An online, interactive Power BI's dashboard that presents quantitative data on various aspects of fragile states, and its publication on initiative's website. This platform will offer comprehensive information, including economic, social, and political data, and serve as a foundational tool for in-depth analysis and research.
